Are your classes for all ages?

The Movement Project drop in and series classes are geared towards students age 15-99+. Our goal is to keep you moving well beyond your graduation. Some classes (Fierce and Fabulous Beginner Women’s classes and Heels classes) do have an age restriction of 18+.

I haven't danced in years. Should I still attend a class?

Absolutely! The Movement Project is known for creating an empowering, non-competitive and supportive environment. We cheer each other on, encourage one another and classes are filled with positive energy. You will be reminded why you love dance so much!

Testimonials

Chantelle Adair

Beginner Class Participant

“I was very hesitant as I never taken a dance class. I made the commitment to myself to try one class. Well, the warm welcome I received, along with easy-to-follow instructions and great song choices made me want to come back again and again. Even though I may sometimes stumble, Lindsay always encourages a smile and to just keep moving.  I recommend The Movement Project to both inexperienced and experienced dancers as there seems to be a class for just about everyone!”

Katelyn Parish

Disney Cruise Lines Choreographer and
Dance Supervisor

“The Movement Project is such a positive, fun environment. It is a welcoming place no matter what level of experience you have. The energy in every class is infectious, and positivity is spread throughout all the students from the teachers. You always leave feeling positive and with a full heart.”

Sarah Rorabeck

Dance Teacher & Professional Performer

“As a professional performer and dance teacher, staying in shape and in touch with our current dance world is so important. The Movement Project provides that (and more) right in my backyard. Getting to Toronto every time I want to take an adult dance class is difficult. Being able to stay in Durham Region and learn from fellow passionate teachers, who are inspiring and fun, is such a gift. I cannot speak highly enough about Lindsay and the team of teachers and performers she has gathered. Highly recommend!”
